  1. Turning Winds was an amazing experience which saved my life and helped me to resolve most of my issues. It is understandable how some past students could be resentful toward Turning Winds. They are in a tough situation in dealing with kids that for the most part did not want to get help from various problems such as: methamphetamine use, cocaine use, alcohol abuse, sneaking out at night whenever they wanted to or just being destructive. I have been a graduate for almost seven years and I am now working for a top architectural firm and doing very well. I had a lot of drug abuse problems prior to coming to Turning Winds and was able to deal with a lot of the underlying issues that caused the problems in the first place. I struggled when I went home as my parents had divorced while I was staying at Turning Winds. To be open about my treatment process, I relapsed several times as I reverted back to former negative coping skills. However, I knew that this would never make me happy. I stayed connected with the school over the years and can assure anyone that the Baesden's were a tremendous asset in helping me see the potential in my self even after leaving the school and making mistakes. I was sadenned to learn that the Baesden's no longer run the school as they had turned that over years ago to just as capable, caring people who also have a great passion for working with struggling teenagers who just need someone to believe in them. My suggestions to the previous posts would be to contact Turning Winds and work out your differences as they are an amazing organization. Also, people should not be looked down upon because of their religion that they choose. I am agnostic and beleive in the freedom to exercise religious beleifs. I come from a Catholic family and respect those who chose to worship as they want.
